Anna is the player every coach dreams of! She is a natural athlete that understands positive results comes from maximum effort. She is a leader by example and feeds off competition, which ultimately made her teammates better. Anna stays determined, focused and competitive on the court while carrying herself with humility and grace off the court. She pushes herself to be the best she can be for the program she is representing because she knows the team, not the individual, is the ultimate champion.” - Breanna Williams, HS Coach, 2016

As a sophomore, I was the only underclassman to make the talented senior heavy Colorado volleyball team as a starting DS. Although I was sidelined early in the season due to a concussion, I am proud to have contributed to my team’s success in winning 5A CSML championships, regional champions and competing at the Colorado State Championships.

I am so honored to be a part of Coronado High School's successful volleyball program. As a freshman volleyball player at Coronado, after playing libero for JV, I was pulled to the varsity team for the regional and state championships because of my strength and success at serving, serve-receive, my defensive skills and my ability to handle and be very successful in high stake, competitive game situations. I am very competitive and get excited about high-stress opportunities. I consider myself to be very coachable, attentive, dedicated and am one of the hardest working athletes you will find. What also sets me apart, is my leadership ability and the positive encouraging energy I bring to my teams. I have been told by my school and club coaches that my positive energy, total effort and leadership makes a real difference to our team's success. I am honored to be selected as captain for many of my school and club teams and love my teammates and working hard. I also commit to summer conditioning to prepare for the season.

CLUB VOLLEYBALL
I have been playing for Colorado Summit Volleyball Club for four years. In all four club seasons (14s-17s) I have been the starting libero and had the honor of being voted team captain all four years. A highlight of my 15s season was placing 5th at the AAU Arizona Festival Classic. All years we were ranked in the top 15 in the state as a team.

It became apparent to me very quickly that she possessed exceptional athleticism on the court, a carry-over from her experiences training for a variety of sports. I expect that she will continue to develop into a competitive singles player and team leader in the next few years and can't wait to see her progress after spending the offseason preparing for another great year!" - Coach Tyler Philipsen, Coronado High School

I love the sport of tennis and think volleyball and tennis complement each other so well. Being a “lefty” definitely has advantages in both sports. My coaches tell me I have a lot of growth potential in tennis.
After a very fun and successful freshman campaign, I returned as a sophomore even stronger and more mentally tough. Again qualifying for state (Top 12 in State at 4A level and regional runner-up) and being a member of the All-Area team, I was named to the First Team All-Conference this season. I look forward to continuing to grow in the sport in the coming years.

Multisport athletes Anna and Kate Griffin prepare for another successful girls' tennis season
At first glance, Anna and Kate Griffin don't look like your typical set of identical twins. Anna, with long, flowing blond hair, stands a few inches taller than her twin, Kate, a brunette, who rocks a short haircut. But there's one family trait that can't be overlooked between the Griffin twins - their athleticism.
